Working on a site with many users where entering the correct email and cell phone number is important. I really want to get away from the standard pattern of having to enter these twice.

What are your thoughts/experiences related to this design pattern and what alternatives have you perhaps seen ?

Testing the autocomplete attribute for input fields and getting some weird errors. No matter what field I complete first using the autocomplete selector, the autocomplete features of other fields send the info to the already completed field.

I must be making some sort of obvious mistake in my code. 🧐,ou

1. User types in phone number and e-mail.
2. User hits "Next" or however the action button is called.

3. A popup or dynamic section under the form signals for attention: "Your Number is ...

3.1 first chunk of number appears
3.2 second chunk of number appears and aligns to first chunk
3.3 third chunk appears and aligns to the other two.

" Is that correct?"

4. User clicks "Yes" and gets a green badge next to number

Repeat with E-Mail

@axbom Instead of typing it twice the user could be urged to read it twice.

Or if you want to go a bit dark:

"This information can't be changed in the first 7 days. Make sure it is right".

@yuliyan Haha, I personally really like this. Very similar to one of my thoughts. I had not thought of the chunking part this clearly, but that is definitely something that would help a lot of people.

@axbom a customer of mine moved to live confirmation email / sms to also make sure delivery is guaranteed. (Copy / past 4 random numbers sent)

They were okay with potentially missing conversion of the potential customer had one of the two bounce and didn’t reach out to support.

Based on numbers no impact on conversion and noticeable reduction in bot / fraudulent accounts.

I cannot speak to accessibility of this as it wasn’t a concern and I wasn’t deeply involved

@fallenhitokiri I've also just realised that from a GDPR perspective this is likely desired, as one doesn't want to risk sending info to numbers/emails that belong to people who have not given consent to receiving messages from that service provider.
